What requirements you'll need to be eligible
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in store design and project management, preferably within the luxury retail industry.
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in store layout design, visual merchandising, and brand identity.
- Experience with store openings, relocations, refurbishments, and renovations.
- Proficient in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) and project management tools.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for liaising with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of building regulations, safety standards, and retail compliance.
What you'll be doing on the job
Project Management
- Lead and manage store design projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Oversee new store openings, relocations, renovations, and refurbishments, ensuring alignment with the brand’s luxury aesthetic and standards.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to execute projects seamlessly.
Store Design and Layout
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and visual merchandising teams to create store layouts that enhance customer flow, maximize sales, and reflect the brand’s luxury identity.
- Ensure that store designs are functional, visually appealing, and in line with the brand’s image and customer experience expectations.
- Ensure that store interiors, fixtures, and fittings are consistent across all locations, maintaining brand uniformity.
Coordination and Communication
- Act as the main point of contact between internal stakeholders (visual merchandising, retail operations, marketing) and external contractors (architects, engineers, suppliers) to ensure smooth project execution.
- Manage relationships with landlords, developers, and local authorities for necessary permits, lease agreements, and approvals.
- Ensure that all projects comply with local regulations, safety standards, and building codes.
Visual Merchandising and Branding
- Work closely with the visual merchandising team to ensure that store design enhances product presentation and merchandising strategies.
- Maintain the brand’s visual identity in all store designs, ensuring a seamless customer experience that reflects luxury and exclusivity.
- Implement seasonal design updates in collaboration with the visual merchandising and marketing teams.
Budgeting and Cost Control
- Develop and manage budgets for all store design projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or brand standards.
- Identify opportunities to optimize resources, reduce costs, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors.
Quality Control and Post-Project Review
- Ensure the quality of materials, finishes, and craftsmanship meet luxury standards.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to ensure that stores meet functional, aesthetic, and operational expectations.
Refurbishment and Maintenance
- Lead refurbishment and renovation efforts for existing stores, ensuring minimal disruption to store operations and customer experience.
- Develop a maintenance schedule for store fixtures and interiors to ensure long-term durability and brand consistency.
