What requirements you'll need to be eligible
- Degree holders – Accounting / Finance
- Relevant experience of at least 5 to 7 years
- Preferably from insurance / finance industry
What you'll be doing on the job
- Ensure the overall smooth running of the accounts receivable and credit control operations, sending of statement of accounts, process commission payments and ensure premium owing to/from agents/brokers/clients/reinsurers are expeditiously collected or paid
- Assist to allocate work to staff and monitor the quality and quantity of their output
- Address queries from business units, clients and intermediaries
- Review and prepare journal entries for provision for doubtful debts and other relevant entries
- Assist in the preparation of relevant financial and regulatory reporting requirements in reference to the accounts receivable
- Reconciliation and follow up with reinsurance companies on the statement of accounts
- Ensure the smooth running of the receipt operations, update on unidentified receipts and other relevant receipting processes
- Perform debtor and bank reconciliation statements and ensure the balances agree with general ledger relating to cashbook. Review reconciliation prepared by staff where relevant
- Assist in preparation of quarterly GST returns
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of the bi-monthly credit control meeting
- Assist in the enhancement of the current credit control processes
- Handle Debtor System – month end closing, reports printing, matching, etc; and Cash Book System – run reports for month end closing
- Take on any other duty allocated by Head of Department so as to contribute to all the overall corporate objectives
