What requirements you'll need to be eligible
- Recognised Degree in Business or related discipline
- More than 5 years of experience in Financial Operations in financial/insurance industry.
- Experienced in leading a team of at least 5 people.
- Experienced in carrying out change management – streamlining of processes, implementation of changes.
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
What you'll be doing on the job
- Responsible for the overall smooth running of the payment operations for trade and non-trade payments
- Assist to allocate work to staff and monitor the quality and quantity of their output.
- Review bank reconciliation statements prepared by the staff and ensure the balances agree with general ledger relating to investment account and cashbook.
- Responsible for the overall credit control process of the Company, sending of statement of accounts, process commission payments and ensure premium owing to/from reinsurers are expeditiously collected or paid.
- Review regularly and follow up with reinsurance companies on the reconciliation done by clerical staff.
- Responsible for the preparation and submission for yearly e-submission of commission to IRAS.
- Responsible for the quarterly GST returns.
- Arrange for collection of drafts/letters and documents/cheques for director’s signature.
- Responsible for the Debtor System – month end closing, reports printing, matching, etc; and Cash Book System – run reports for month end closing. Upload debtors, Outward Treaty and Unexpired Premium Reserve from Odyssey System to SUNGL System.
- Responsible for the update of payment mandates, board resolution and electronic banking facilities.
- Relieve in daily monitoring of cash flow and place excess funds in fixed deposit account.
- Relieve in liaising with bank regarding renewal/cancellation of fixed deposit and check fixed deposit transactions.
- Assist to undertake finance projects or enhancements
- Take on any other duty allocated by Head of Department so as to contribute to all the overall corporate objectives.
