What requirements you'll need to be eligible
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/Bachelor's Degree/Professional Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/Electromechanical) Supply chain/Warehouse Management, Logistic and Transport Administration, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent.
- Knowledge in robotic applications or other automated systems is an added advantage.
- A pro-active and resourceful individual with excellent negotiation, communication and motivation skills.
- Ability to communicate concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.
- Have SAP knowledge/experience.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Team player but also capable to work independently.
- Have good sense of time management and strong customer focus.
What you'll be doing on the job
Purchasing & Order Management
- Responsible for sourcing, selecting and negotiating with suppliers/ vendors to constantly strive for best pricing and maintaining the highest level of quality, reliability and service.
- Defines initiates and manages cost reduction projects, on assigned spend areas aimed at structurally reducing costs.
- Attained the best value by developing negotiation strategies and providing negotiation strategies and providing analytical support for selection and management of suppliers/ vendors.
- Build up strong vendors’ network and evaluate vendor’s performance, vendor’s selection and contract negotiation.
- Monitoring stocks in warehouse and ensure all stocks are fully utilized on a timely basis.
- Evaluate and regulate spare parts inventory based on demand history, availability, and significance.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders when necessary.
- Keeping an eye on stock levels to make sure supplies are always accessible.
- Coordinating with suppliers to place orders for products that are low on supply or that require replenishment.
- Obtain price lists from vendors to create and update (internal and customers).
- Coordinates the yearly Inventory & Reconciliation process.
- Controlling inventory levels by placing new orders for supplies as needed or asking for returns.
Logistics
- Oversee freight carriers to ensure receiving the best price and service.
- Oversee the product shipment process and documentation preparation for products import as well as export to ensure smooth transition.
- Liaising with authorities for all import and export documentations.
- Monitoring the flow of items via the supply chain with the aid of computer program or manual systems.
- Keeping track of supplies, equipment, and fleet vehicles.
- Liaise with internal team and create shipping plans for items to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage and liaise with other internal departments and external logistics service providers on warehouse, shipping & delivery requirements for sea and air freight.
- Looking into current technology and shipping trends to see which is ideal for the needs of the company.
- Putting together reports on shipping activity to highlight areas for improvement, including arrival timings and delays.
