What requirements you'll need to be eligible
  • A bachelor’s degree in accountancy or a related field is required. 
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting or similar role. 
  • Team player and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Strong audit background in Big 4 firms.
  • Excellent Hands-on bookkeeping.
  • Experience with NetSuite Accounting software would be an advantage.
  • Strong in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in handling Statutory Audits.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written). 
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, multitasking and ability to work under minimal supervision. 
  • Positive mindset and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work alongside other staff from various department.
What you'll be doing on the job
  • Handles full set of accounts (Independent Contributor), including month-end and year-end closing. 
  • Assist with GL month-end closing journals and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist, manage and maintain Fixed Asset Register.
  • Assist and manage monthly balance sheet and P&L schedules. 
  • Assist the AR/AP teams for any process control/ system improvement, following up with outstanding fees. 
  • Responsible for reconciling and agreeing intercompany balances within the Group and its related companies and reporting on intercompany balances for Month-end and Year-end closing. 
  • Assist and provide support on bi-monthly payment schedule.
  • Responsible for verifying/facilitating payments through online banking transactions. 
  • Process overseas/local suppliers’ payment and prepare journal entries for accruals and other adjustments.  
  • Evaluate and improve AP and GL process and timely review of Open POs. 
  • Preparation of monthly and year-end schedules as per Financial Statements, Bank Reconciliation and Petty Cash. 
  • Submission of FPS Insurance to ensure compliance with the mandated insurance for fees collected in advance under the Fee Protection scheme. 
  • Review multiple entity accounts and liaison with various departments (E.g., Academic/Procurement) 
  • Responsible for reviewing monthly reporting of related companies to ensure accuracy. 
  • Provide insight on financial matters and assist in implementing financial policies and controls with compliance of accounting policies & procedures. 
  • Responsible for Year-end Statutory Audit. Liaise with external auditors to close the audit on a timely basis. 
  • Liaise with Tax Agents on annual tax computation and submissions to ensure tax compliance and all tax returns are submitted on a timely basis. 
  • Preparation of GST filing. 
  • Support senior management and project managers on major initiatives and projects where needed. 
  • Other Ad-hoc duties assigned by manager.
