What requirements you'll need to be eligible
  • Possess a recognised Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in insurance industry and experience in IFRS 17 project an added advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
What you'll be doing on the job
  • Responsible to assist in month end closing activities for general ledger closing and ensuring the timely completion and its accuracy of reports for regulatory and regional submission.
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, maintaining appropriate supporting documentation and ensure all accounting entries are properly recorded and reconciled time to time.
  • To work with the finance team to ensure balance sheet reconciliation are accurately compiled, supported by documentation and any aged variances are proactively addressed.
  • To assist manager in performing monthly reconciliations on the output generated from the MFRS 17 system.
  • Assist in other ad-hoc assignments as and when required • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
