Possess a recognised Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in insurance industry and experience in IFRS 17 project an added advantage.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
What you'll be doing on the job
Responsible to assist in month end closing activities for general ledger closing and ensuring the timely completion and its accuracy of reports for regulatory and regional submission.
Perform month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, maintaining appropriate supporting documentation and ensure all accounting entries are properly recorded and reconciled time to time.
To work with the finance team to ensure balance sheet reconciliation are accurately compiled, supported by documentation and any aged variances are proactively addressed.
To assist manager in performing monthly reconciliations on the output generated from the MFRS 17 system.
Assist in other ad-hoc assignments as and when required • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
